The line is the central focus of the work of Carlos Matter and this small book represents a search and at the same time a game, in which Carlos Matter embarks on new directions. He now enlarges drawings, the line frees itself from the material wood. In the studio, situations with tape, ties and tubes are experimented with and photographed. Sometimes the photographs of these staged scenarios look better than the real thing. In a model box, three walls measuring 30 x 40 simulate an exhibition space, works are projected inside and then photographed. Sometimes the photographs don't look as good as the projections on the wall made from a drawing from a moulded wooden board
