The Ptolemaic Papyri of Homer. - WEST, St., (ed.),

KORTE INHOUD

'This book is much to be welcomed. As the author observes, mere convenience would have been sufficient cause for collecting these papyrus texts in a single volume, since the original publications were very widely scattered. But this is far more than a reprint; the papyri have been collated afresh, in the original where possible and otherwise from photographs, and the variant readings discussed in a commentary of great learning and clarity. The important general questions arising from these papyri are dealt with at the end of the introduction.' (N.G. WILSON in The Classical Review (New Series), 1969, p.232). From the library of the late Professor Doktor Nikolaus Himmelmann.
