Benvenuto Cellini (Florence, November 3, 1500 - February 13, 1571) was a Florentine sculptor, engraver and writer. He became one of the most important goldsmiths of the Italian Renaissance and made exquisite carved coins, jewelry, vases and ornaments. His autobiography is a valuable testimony of the time.
