My Good Life in France - Janine Marsh
In persuit of the rural dream
KORTE INHOUD
One gray, dismal day, Janine Marsh was on a trip to northern France to pick up some cheap wine. A few hours later she returned to England having decided to buy a rundown old barn in the rural Seven Valleys area of Pas de Calais.
Leaving her well paid ob in London, Janine moved to France to live the good life. Or so she hoped. While getting to grips with the locals and la vie française, and renovating het dilapidated 'new' house - a building lacking the comforts of mais drainage, heating or proper rooms - she started to realize there was a lot more to het new life than she could ever have imagined.
This is the story of Janine's rollercoaster ride through a different culture - one that, to a Brit from the city, was never short of surprises.
