KORTE INHOUD

'This is a book written with a definite purpose, for the teacher and student rather than for the research worker. As such, it should satisfy a real need. Throughout, the emphasis is on philosophic doctrines and speculations; literary questions, the successions of philosophers and schools, religious ideas and the political affiliations are scarcely touched on. But these are matters which may be developed in teaching if desired, and the present book provides a very adequate tool for the teaching of Greek philosophy to Classical students. (G.B. KERFERD on the first volume in The Classical Review (New Series), 1951, p.159).
