Christoffel (Essen)

Christoffel Hendrickx was born a poet and studied Literature and Theatre at the University of Antwerp. During his last years at college, he got honorable mention in the poetry contest of the Literary Department. With Frank Vercruysse (TG Stan) he produced and played ‘Een tipje van de luier’ with his class, which won first place at the Festival of Groningen in 2007. He directed and wrote a few experimental plays and performances like "Als iets en dan" and "geKust" and published two books of poetry: "Altijd hetzelfde anders" and "Jouw vel op mijn vel", under the pseudonym "Eisenik".
After his graduation he was very active in the field of crossover performance and underground literature, music and arts and he made for example the installation performance ‘Bad-End’ with visual artist Sara Schelkens. He directed and produced a multi-medial performance ‘DeGrotenPrins’ which premiered at the Prefab Festival in Leuven and was scened again at the Scheldapen in Antwerpen.
