The exhibition looked at a short but crucial moment in Turner's career. Turner made a tour of the Alps of Savoy, Dauphin? and Switzerland in the summer of 1802. Almost all the drawings from the 1802 tour are in the Turner Bequest at the Tate Gallery. The exhibition also included examples of the finished waterdcolours that Turner made from them for exhibition and sale in following years. nThe exhibition has been selected and catalogued by David Blayney Brown.
