It is with enormous sadness that I am writing about Theo Bergstrom who died peacefully at home in his Shoreditch studio on May 22, 1998. Theo was such a unique, inspirational and gentle soul that those many people who have fallen under his spell have suffered an enormous and premature loss. In the 60's he became Head of Photography at the College of Art & Design in Leicester where he lived with his first wife, Lorna and their six children.
In the early 70's Theo came to London to work as an advertising photographer and became involved with the development of lasers, holograms and the exhibition 'Light Fantastic' at the Royal Academy. During this time he also set up a publishing company producing books such as 'Stonhenge', 'The Thames' and 'Hadrians Wall' featuring his reportage photography.
