The Friday Afternoon Latin Book. - WILLIAMSON, I.,

KORTE INHOUD

'The aim of this miscellany is to provide material of a lighter nature for occasional lessons distinct from the normal Latin course. (...) The Latin is closely based on the work of Latin authors; the competitions in English provide exercise in the literary and modern use of Latin tags and phrases. (...) Most of the material is graded A, B, and C, in progressive order of difficulty. (...) It is intended that the poems and stories should be read quickly, with considerable help of the teacher; enjoyment is the primary aim. In the competitions the answers to the questions may be written by individuals or by groups of pupils. A system of competitive marking in teams should be arranged.' (I. WILLIAMSON in the Preface, p.3).
