When Prokoviev premiered Peter and the Wolf in 1936 he can scarcely have foreseen quite how successful his playful classic would become or how consistently it would delight children of all ages for years to come. Royalties from the project will be donated to the Irish Hospice Foundation - Bono's heart is especially close to this cause after the death of his father last year.
