The concept of the loft - that of reclaiming abandoned, mostly industrial buildings and factories, and turning them into modern diaphanous spaces for both working and living - has evolved from a single artist making the most of a derelict warehouse to becoming highly valued property, newly renovated by worldclass architects. Inspired by the site's raw materials, such traditionally industrial elements as steel, concrete and brick have been refashioned to the will of the architects.
