De Inca's en hun voorgangers zijn beroemd om hun keramiek, edelsmeedkunst en bouwwerken in en kolossale natuurstenen… Maar hoe waren ze gekleed? De Inca's gebruikten kostbaar textiel niet alleen om zich te kleden, maar ook als symbool van macht en identiteit, als offer en ruilmiddel. Het Museum voor Kunst en Geschiedenis in Brussel toont dit najaar een adembenemende collectie textiel en pluimen, maar ook sieraden in goud, zilver en schelp. Er komt zelfs een atelier waar Peruviaanse vrouwen de traditionele weeftechnieken zullen demonstreren.
Deze tentoonstelling voor het brede publiek zal zo'n 200 voorwerpen uit de eigen museumcollectie tonen, aangevuld met voorwerpen uit het Linden Museum van Stuttgart, het MAS in Antwerpen en uit Belgische privéverzamelingen. Van 23 november 2018 tot 24 maart 2019 in het Museum voor Kunst en Geschiedenis (Jubelpark) te Brussel.
