Horace on Poetry. The 'Ars Poetica'. - BRINK, C.O.,

KORTE INHOUD

'This volume consists of preface, introduction on MSS. and editions, text with apparatus criticus, commentary, three appendices, two chapters on the A.P. as Horation poetry, bibliography (...) and five indices. As a very scholarly edition of the poem it is greatly to be welcomed and must be considered a major accomplishment. (...). B.'s text is a cautious one. (...) The notes are them ost detailed and valuable part of the work. The more difficult a passage is, the more fully it tends to be discussed. (...) the edition is comprehensive, sound and as learned as all would expect, supplying a long-felt want.' (O.A.W. DILKE in The Journal of Roman studies, 1972, pp.158-163).
