From the mid sixties onwards, the Belgian painter Fred Bervoets (°1942) has been developing a highly personal breed of neo-expressionism. Since the early nineties, however, his work has been dominated by etchings that are totally unorthodox, both in subject and in technique. This book offers an overview of all Bervoet's monumental graphic works between 1990 and 2010, complemented with a selection from his huge output of smaller works. This is a 'picture book' in the full sense of the term.

The first complete survey of Bervoets' unique pictorial chart, from 1990 until now spent on the leading painter of the Antwerp art collective The Black Panther is considered one of Belgium's foremost painters. Since the early nineties is Bervoets' work a remarkable austerity, which expresses itself in monumental etchings. Carried out in Bervoets invented by a 'wrong' etching technique, which he directly with the acid on the plates 'paints' and then etching be painted.
