Einführung in Homer. - CODINO, F.,

KORTE INHOUD

'This German translation by R. Enking will undoubtedly be useful and find sympathetic readers in the appropriate linguistic area. The rendering, which starts from the advantage of a lucidly composed original, appears to be effective and stylish. (...) One of the most annoying features of the original has been mended. Footnotes, which were formerly completely lacking, have been added where authorities have been quoted. The indexes have been overhauled and extended. A short bibliography with comments (the latest entry is 1967) has also been added. The result is a very serviceable but rather conservative guide to Homeric studies.' (J.B. HAINSWORTH in The Classical Review (New Series), 1972, pp.268-269).
