Die Expositionstechnik in den Komödien des Terenz. - LEFÈVRE, E.,

KORTE INHOUD

Ín this neat libellus Lefèvre probes the consequences of Terence's elimination of the expository prologues of his originals. Terence, he concludes, wished to eliminate an essentially non-dramatic element, rather than to increase the element of surprise. (...) The real meat, however, is his analytic and doxographic treatment of each play. (...) We look forward to broader and deeper contribution from this lucid scholar in a subject where a great deal is yet to be discovered and defined. (A.S. GRATWICK in The Classical Review (New Series), 1972, p.300-02). From the library of the late Prof. W. Geoffrey Arnott.
