Unfair Arguments with Existence - Lawrence Ferlinghetti

Seven Plays for a new Theatre

KORTE INHOUD

"Unfair Arguments with Existence" marked Ferlinghetti's first published foray into the world of theatre, and featured seven plays reflective of his vision for "A New Theatre." Acknowledging some debt to Surrealist martyr Antonin Artaud among others, Ferlinghetti composed these seven pieces for the stage. This particular copy can be easily identified as the first edition by the publisher's omission of a photograph of Tom Rosque acting as the character of "Blind Indian" in the San Francisco production of "The Alligation," the only one of these plays to have taken the stage at the time of publication.
