The Pre-Raphaelite collection at Manchester City Art Gallery, on which this book is based, consists of over 100 paintings and watercolours and includes such world-famous pictures as Ford Madox Brown's Work, Holman Hunt's The Hireling Shepherd and Shadow of Death, Millais' Autumn Leaves, and Rossetti's Astarte Syriaca.
