Three Plays - August Strindberg
The father, Miss Julia, Easter.
KORTE INHOUD
His realistic plays challenged the theatrical traditions of the day and were largeiy inspired by his own turbulent life. Both The Father and Miss Julia, with their emphasis on the war of the sexes, were written during the break-up of Strindberg's first marriage. Easter came thirteen years later and is the most optimistic and serene of the three. His observation of human nature especially the behaviour of women - is powerful and ruthless.
