'Severyns? purpose is to produce the history of the printed text of the fragments (of Proclus? lost ?Chrestomathy?), a ?stemma editionum?, as he calls it, instead of a ?stemma codicum? which he has already published (?) (1953). His own critical text of the fragments, reprinted from vol.3 of the ?Recherches?, forms a removable pamphlet of twelve pages, inserted in the present volume in order that the reader may more easily look up the countless references to the Greek that are found in the body of the work. (?) The present volume, after a brief ?propos luminaire: outrages et canticles cités en abrégé?, and an ?Avant-propos?(?) is divided into three main parts: (1) ?Entrée en matière? (pp.17-68; (2) ?Texte, définitions, et plan? (69-241); (3) ?Apparat? (242-357).
