KORTE INHOUD
The relations between formal and non-formal learning are at the core of the strategies for lifelong learning. This book, fruit of the collaboration of fifteen authors from different countries and institutions, undertakes an in-depth exploration of this idea. Three chapters examine respectively, the recent developments in formal education; innovations to promote learning in non-formal settings in the workplace, in society and in cultural and family settings; and policy implications of strong linkages between formal and non-formal learning for our societies. This comprehensive approach that favours transversal and more transparent and integrated policies, is illustrated by examples from European and transition countries.
